Weekly Wishlist: Autumn Accents

It’s beginning to look a lot like… Autumn! In preparation for the changing of the seasons, I’ve pulled together some home accents that really set the mood for crisp nights, hot cider and weekends spent watching football.

The natural texture of these candle holders feel perfect for fall. Check out their shop for more sizes and shapes. With so many options, you could create a nice little arrangement on a mantle, shelf, or even a table centerpiece.

These felted acorns would look so cute collected in a dish or bowl, or even just casually scattered on a table. The plum and chartreuse palette is a fresh take on traditional reds, oranges and yellows. (And would perfectly match my family room, wink, wink).

I ADORE this wreath – the raven totally makes it. And makes me want to read some Poe.

You knew there had to be an owl in here, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Love me some owls!

These pumpkins are so fun! I have so many visions for my front porch this season… I think I need to make some room for some painted pumpkins! Imagine the possibilities!

What’s on your wishlist this week? How do you incorporate Autumn elements into your decor? (I’m still working on this… my collection of Autumn decor is pitifully small… trying to do a few vignettes around the house without breaking the bank!)

Weekly Wishlist: Watercolor Art by Jessica Durrant

I’ve been spending a lot of time recently on Etsy, searching for a few special prints to include in our family room gallery wall. In my hunt, I came across artist Jessica Durrant, and her gorgeous watercolors.

My absolute favorites are her “Wanderlust Inspired” travel illustrations. I just think they are incredible – the colors, the subject matter, and the beautiful drips and smudges that just accent the hand-done quality of her work.

I did inquire about having a custom watercolor done of the Cincinnati Skyline, but it was a bit more than I want to spend on this project. Maybe in the future… for a special occasion or gift…

See all of Jessica’s beautiful prints in her shop.

Weekly Wishlist: Mirrored Chests

This week finds me wide-eyed over some absolutely stunning mirrored chests. I think a piece of mirrored furniture adds instant elegance and interest to a room. An immediate conversation piece with loads of class.

If you’re apprehensive of taking such a glitzy leap, start small with an accent table. Me? I’d go straight for a giant chest of drawers! These three selections were found via Horchow. You can find even more options (including console tables, accent tables, and mirrored mirrors) on my Pinterest board here.

The wood detail on this is so beautiful, this chest only needs simple accessories to set it apart in any room – a simple vase of flowers or a favorite piece of art leaned against a wall. That way you’d get all colors reflecting on the top!

This is such a stylish, elegant chest. I love the shape, how the drawers are staggered to give it depth. And legs looks like prisms!

This one literally took my breath away! The detail is incredible. The website description states that it is covered in 240 individually beveled mirrors in a basketweave pattern. In-cre-di-ble. And of course, I love the name ๐Ÿ˜‰

Weekly Wishlist: Enamored with Hammered Metal

I have always been attracted to shiny, metallic things (though sadly, never owned a Bedazzler). I love the current hammered metal trend. It’s a great way to add some interest and spice to any room. These three picks, from One Kings Lane, are labeled as accent tables, but you could group a few together for a coffee table, or even use them as a plant stand. How cool would that look!?

Weekly Wishlist: Black, White and Zebra All Over

I never in my wildest dreams imagined that we’d somehow wind up with a zebra print rug front-and-center in our family room! I’d been dreaming of animal prints for months (namely a gorgeous brown-and-cream giraffe rug), but Tom wasn’t on board. Until he spotted a zebra rug at HomeGoods. Of course, I immediately agreed that it was perfect before he could change his mind. And, voila! โ€“ we went home with a zebra rug!

So ever since then, I can’t help but get excited when I see a fantastic zebra-inspired print.

How fabulous would these look around a black pedestal dining table?!?

This bench would be perfect for a custom walk-in closet, for seating and for storage. And the soft grey is a nice way to ease into animal prints if you’re nervous about making too bold of a statement.

How about a Zebra cowhide rug? This would definitely be a “conversation” piece. I would place it under a glass coffee table so you could still enjoy the shape and print.

This chest is incredible. This would be amazing in a dining room, bedroom, or even in a foyer.

Zebra doesn’t always have to be so black and white! I love a good colorful print. It feels fresh, modern, and a touch youthful. This print by Britt Browne is particularly cool. (wish it wasn’t $200!!)

If you’d rather start with a small dose of the safari-inspired, how about a bright green zebra matchbox?
