Reading books has always been one of my favorite things, a vital part of my life. When I was a kid, I would leave a book in every room, so I always had something to read no matter where I was in the house. My mom always wondered how I kept 3 stores straight at once! I am still a lover of books, though I don’t make as much time for reading as I used to. I am also a lover of book-related projects, and today I’m sharing one of the easiest book-related projects ever: washi tape bookmarks.
One of my favorite things to do when I take a trip to the mall is to stop by and browse through Anthropologie. Their stores always smell incredible, and I love to take my time walking through each section, getting inspired by the beautiful styling, props and merch for sale. But another thing I am loving lately about Anthropologie is their shopping bags! They are gorgeous! I’ve been hanging onto a couple because I can’t bear to throw them in our recycling bin. While I was hunting around the house for artwork for my new craft room (reveal coming soon!), I remembered I’d been hoarding these and decided to turn one into a pretty piece of gift bag framed art.
We had a snow day yesterday, so I threw on my coziest sweats and sat down to craft the afternoon away. Only problem was that I had no idea what I wanted to craft, until I came across a mini roll of washi tape that reminded me of sprinkles. And suddenly the idea for a cupcake birthday card was born!
The hubs and I snuck in one last DIY before 2015 ended—a giant chalkboard for our kitchen wall. But with all the holiday hustle, I haven’t had a chance to share it with you until now! So, without further delay, here is our full step-by-step tutorial on how to build a chalkboard.
