The holiday season is in full swing! I’ve been busy decorating the house and tree, and trying to get gifts purchased so I can start wrapping! I should probably also be writing up my Christmas cards… But when Fox19 asked me to come on and share a few holiday entertaining ideas, I just couldn’t say no!
My visions never come to life as I expect them to. Take our Christmas mantel: for months, I was envisioning a sort of rustic woodlands type of setting. Plenty of evergreens, frost-covered branches, textures of wood and fur. Basically like Pottery Barn Ski Lodge. But, in true Emily fashion, that’s not what I wound up with! Instead, it came to life as more of a Snowy Wonderland Christmas Mantel. But, it looks pretty beautiful (in my humble opinion), so I’m okay that I strayed from my own vision!
I have a long way to go before I’m a master seamstress, but I’m already starting to get the hang of my new-to-me sewing machine. If nothing else, I may soon hold the title of master seamstress of throw pillow covers. Because I can sew an envelope-style pillow cover with the best of them!
And that’s exactly the method I used to create these cute appliqué throw pillows for our family room couches (yep, the purple ones!).
Now that our bedroom is all trimmed and painted, our bathroom needs to catch up! But there’s a few more items we want to check off our Bathroom To Do list before we can put this room in the books. And one of those is switching out our vanity lights. So I’ve been hunting down a whole bunch of bathroom lighting ideas to help us decide what we want!
Yep, that’s right. The title of this post is plural. Now that we’re entering Phase 3 of our Master Bedroom Makeover, i.e. the fun part, I am hitting that ol’ familiar wall of too-many-options-and-inspiration-that-my-head-may-explode. So I did the only logical thing to do at this bump in the road. I made a mood board. Or rather, I made three mood boards to help me decide on a direction.
