Do you ever happen upon the clearance aisle at the craft store, fill your cart with all sorts of materials and surfaces that scream I-could-do-something-with-this, and then dump them in a drawer when you get home and promptly forget about them? Yeah, me too. I am notorious for bringing home things that I think I can someday make something out of. And then they pile up in my craft room for… let’s just say for a while. So I was pretty excited when my friend Sarah from Flourish & Knot suggested putting together a blogger challenge, called There for the Making, where we would only use things we already had on-hand to create something new. Genius, right!?!?
If you’ve been reading Two Purple Couches for a year or two, you may have heard me talk about what has now become our Valentine’s tradition of visiting the Kentucky Bourbon Trail with friends. This year we took our tradition one step further and made it a weekend getaway to Louisville! Now that we’ve visited over half of the bourbon distilleries along the Bourbon Trail, I thought I’d share some of our favorite stops and what we enjoyed most about them.
Is anyone else already thinking Spring? I am looking forward to brightening up our home with yellows, pinks and pale purples. I’ve even contemplated hanging a Spring wreath on our front door, but it may be a bit early for that yet. Yes, I said love. That may seem like a strong declaration for countertops, but let me explain…
Both my parents and my in-laws are in the midst of home improvement projects right now—mine are updating their master bath and my in-laws are updating their kitchen. They’ve both asked our opinions on what kind of countertops they should get, and without hesitation, my husband and I both responded “quartz”.
We selected quartz countertops for our kitchen five years ago and we couldn’t be happier with them!
