It’s no secret that I love me some washi tape. I don’t know what it is about these tiny rolls of printed and patterned goodness, but I can’t get enough! And thanks to Scotch being one of the Haven sponsors, my washi tape collection doubled! All of this awesome new tape was burning a hole in my craft supply pocket and I couldn’t wait to start creating with it. So I’ve got a fun, quick and simple art project to share with you today: abstract washi tape art!
I’ve gotten to the point in the summer where I want to clear out my closet and start fresh with all new pieces. But of course, this isn’t practical, nor would I actually do it. But it’s nice to dream about, right? And whenever I start dreaming of ways to refresh my wardrobe, I immediately turn to jewelry and accessories. A pair of jeans and a plain tee can take on so many looks just based on the accessories you pair them with! So of course, as soon as I saw the latest summer accessories from Umba, I started dreaming up all kinds of looks in my head!
I know, I know. I’m as bad as Hobby Lobby, talking about Christmastime and snow when it’s 90 degrees outside and all you want is to be at the pool. But hear me out… I always have good intentions of working ahead, especially when it comes to the holidays. And when I do actually work ahead, I feel more calm, and oddly, more accomplished. So here’s to working ahead on all those Christmas decorations we swore last July that we’d do! Or, if you prefer to wait until December, that’s okay, too. Because all of these easy diy Christmas decorations are pretty simple to pull together, which means they’re great for the intentions that get left until the last minute!
One of my favorite parts about blogging conferences is swapping business cards with my fellow attendees. Yes, bloggers have business cards, errr, blogger cards? Anyway, out of the stack I collected at Haven, there were some blogger business cards I just had to share with you!
I love to host parties.
Well, okay. Let me rephrase that. What I really love is the idea of hosting parties. Because by the day-of, my to-do list is a mile long and things are nuts. From cleaning to decorating to prepping food, it always seems like I am “down to the doorbell” getting everything together. And it stresses me out like no other.
So when I was preparing for my big 30th birthday bash last month, I tried to help myself out and get as much as possible done as far in advance as possible. All the decorations were up days in advance and the house was 90% clean the day-of, so all I really had to concentrate on was food prep.
And I found a fantastic solution to help make sure 1.) everything made it to the table, and 2.) I wasn’t scrambling around last-minute trying to find a bowl for this and a plate for that.
