Remember back in the days when Pinterest was new and you fully believed you’d complete every project, recipe, and decorating idea you pinned?
Well, that’s how long this idea for diy bookends has been floating around in my brain.
Why has it taken me so long to actually do?
I wish I could tell you.
But let’s look on the positive side: I finally made them, and I love them!
I’m sharing all the details about these diy bookends over at VRAI Magazine today.
And I could probably make up about two dozen more sets, considering how many plastic toy horses are crammed into a storage container and stashed upstairs in the spare bedroom.
Hi, my name is Emily, and I was obsessed with horses.
No, seriously. In kindergarten, I was known as the kid with the most My Little Ponies. And lemme tell you, everyone wanted to come play at my house and scope out my collection!
You can call it hoarding if you want, but I’m pretty tickled that I was able to re-purpose my favorite childhood toys into something I can use as an adult!
So which projects have been on your Pinterest to-do list since those early days? Do any of them involve raiding your kids’ toy chest??

Emily I love these so much! I just had to feature them on this weeks Creative Spark Link Party! I love how you repurposed something we all had growing up and they are so quirky and modern. I kind of want a pair in teal! Hope you will link up again today! http://bit.ly/1BLLyxp
