In addition to the monthly “challenges” coordinated by our Silhouette Challenge group on Facebook, the team also coordinates quarterly swap events. The “late summer” swap was for DIY gift tags. I don’t know what it is about gift tags, but I love ’em! And I love to make ’em!
One of the first DIY projects we undertook in our home was to replace our builder-grade interior window sills with larger wood ones. This is mainly a cosmetic project—our old sills were functioning just fine—but the results add so much visual interest, as well as value, to our home!
Now that it’s officially October, I’m in the mood to add some more seasonal touches to my home.

I love pumpkin spice and pumpkin flavored things: pumpkin pies, pumpkins cakes, pumpkin muffins and cupcakes and all number of other pumpkin-flavored baked goods. I like to enjoy my pumpkin baked goods with a nice warm cup-o-joe. I just don’t like all the pumpkin flavor dumped into my nice warm cup-o-joe.
But pumpkin spice plus a couple of scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream? Ooooooh yeah, now we’re talking!
