Winter Home Tour

Does anyone else dread the day their Christmas decorations come down? I always loathe packing them away and trying to figure out what to display in their places. Last year was the first year I created a winter-themed mantel, and I loved it (you can see it here). The soft transition from holidays to snowy winter days was so nice, and I decided to do the same this year. 2016 Year in Review

Hello friends! I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season. I took some time away from Two Purple Couches to enjoy the days, and enjoy them we did. Lots of cheesy Christmas movies were watched, tons of sweets were eaten, and lots of memories were made with family and friends. In short, it was a fabulous and much-needed break to wind down the year.

When I was a kid, I used to steal away to my room on New Year’s Eve and recap the year in my diary. I’d create two columns and write down the good and not-so-good things that happened that year. While I haven’t done this in well over a decade, I still reflect back on the highs and lows that the year has brought, and this blog gives me a way to document and share it in a different way. I thought it’d be fun to put together a 2016 Year in Review and look back at the biggest and best highlights, projects and accomplishments of this year!

Christmas Home Tour 2016

I don’t know why, but it felt like it took me forever to get our home decorated for the holidays this year! It seemed like every surface I set out to decorate, I’d get distracted five minutes later and move onto a different shelf or table. Or worse, I’d arrange a few things and decide the next day that I wasn’t satisfied with the placement. But I finally got everything in place, and I am feeling good about our holiday home this year. Even though we aren’t hosting a holiday dinner this year, I still wanted to decorate our dining room. Vintage-Inspired Christmas Porch Decor

Hello friends! Can you believe we’ve got less than two weeks until Christmas!? My home is all ready for the holidays, so now it’s on to shopping, wrapping and sending cards! While I was busy decorating the inside of our home (full tour to come later this week), I had to pop outside and add some festive touches there as well. My Christmas porch decor this year is inspired from some sweet vintage-style holiday pieces I’ve been collecting. I hope you like it as much as I do!
