But I thought I’d take some time today to share more about my journey of learning how to watercolor. More specifically, how I took the plunge, where I found my supplies and who I look to for tips and techniques.
When it’s hot and humid outside, as it frequently is in SW Ohio in the summer, I am constantly fighting the desire to drink all the refreshing drinks: iced coffees, infused waters, smoothies… You name it, I’d like to have a glass of it. It’s just too hot to eat (unless it’s tacos, it’s never too hot for tacos), but it’s the perfect weather for a glass of ice cold refreshment. And what sounds more refreshing than a Sparkling Ginger Lemonade? Not much, I’d imagine.

Even though I don’t have kids to send back to school, I’ve had the urge this week to buy a fresh stack of notebooks and a new backpack. I mean, who doesn’t love cracking open a brand new blank notebook!? I can’t be the only one!
I often find myself roaming the aisles of home decor stores solely for inspiration. Do you ever do that? I know there’s a good chance that I can make my own versions for less than what the price tag says, especially when it comes to artwork! Like this watercolor and vinyl quote art, for instance…
While at HomeGoods recently, I spotted a whole section of quote art. Some were on canvas, some were framed prints, but all carried a price tag of at least $15 and up. While some of the prices certainly weren’t breaking the bank, I knew I had an empty frame and gold vinyl at home, and could make my own version in any color combination I chose. So that’s exactly what I did! (wink)
