I now have a much better understanding of why people take babymoons.
Tom and I recently escaped with our best friends for a week under the sunny skies of Hilton Head, SC. We spent our days sleeping in, riding bikes and lounging beside the pool. In other words, it was amazingly relaxing.
And just what I’ve been needing.
These past few months have been stressful, to say the least. January sure packed a punch, first with the discovery of my ear tumor and then, just a few days later, I lost my job. I don’t think I realized just how much was weighing on me, but being away for a week was just what I needed to calm my head and my heart. A change of scenery always does me good.
As my hour for surgery draws closer, I am finding that I am ready for it. I feel very confident in my surgeons and the hospital staff, and I’m hoping that my body will rebound somewhat quickly.
I’m sure as soon as we pull into the hospital parking garage tomorrow morning, all of these good feels will turn into mushy stomach butterflies. But until then, I am going to keep as positive an outlook as I can.
If you have any good vibes, thoughts or prayers to spare in the next few days, I’d sure appreciate anything, big or small!
Oh, and, in case you’re wondering, this blog won’t be going silent while I’m out. I’ve got some awesome guest posts and roundups in store for the next few weeks, until I’m back on my blogging feet!
What beautiful pictures! So glad you had a wonderful time. I will be praying for you Emily. Also for your family and the Doctors taking care of you.
