I realize that it’s been awhile since I shared a life update with all of you! Sometimes I get so caught up in and excited about the projects that I’m working on that I forget to take a minute to just chat and share what’s new in our life.
Well, what’s new is something pretty big… I’m expecting our first baby!
If this is catching you by surprise, well, it caught us a little by surprise, too, haha! But that’s what makes life’s changes more fun and interesting, right?
I’m due mid-March – March 12 to be exact – but I’d guess there is a .0001% chance of Baby K actually arriving on that day.
Overall I am feeling well. I had some nausea, heartburn and overall tiredness/brain fuzzies during the first trimester, but most of that seems to be clearing. I’m looking forward to getting some of my energy and focus back, especially as we head into the holiday season.
We will be finding out the gender, hopefully later this month as long as someone cooperates. I’m too much of a planner to wait it out until delivery day! Plus I think it’ll be more fun to know who I’m creating a nursery for.
I always figured we’d expand our family at some point, but we’ve never really had a timeline in place for when it could happen. It took me a little while to wrap my brain around the news. But as I get further along, I’m getting more excited and curious about who this new little person will be. I’m also curious how our dog will respond to our new addition – she loves kids of all ages, but she’s never experienced one living in our house before!
If you have any good resources for preparing a dog for a new baby, please let me know in the comments section! Or if you have any other burning questions, feel free to ask away. I’m sure our life as parents will make its way into the blog now and then, but my plan is to keep my content focused on home and DIY.
ps – if you’re local to the Cincinnati area, stop by my Instagram post here. I’m giving away 2 tickets for a fun vintage & handmade market show called Ruffles & Rust at the end of October!
Yay!! So excited for you both! Congrats!
Thanks Amy!
