Fashion Friday

I know I normally don’t post fashion-related things, but I thought I’d send you into the weekend with a cool website to check out. When it comes to those flash-sale discount type sites, I am usually an observer. I subscribe to quite a few, but rarely make purchases. Mostly because if I purchased everything that caught my eye, I’d be in the poorhouse by now (side note: do those still exist? or was that just a Victorian-period kind of thing??) So, I just “window shop” and pin to my heart’s content.

I recently heard about SassySteals through the blog-o-sphere. SassySteals is more of a boutique site that offers flash sales on jewelry, accessories, etc. After months of observing, I finally decided I had to make a purchase. They offer too much cool jewelry for me to pass it up any longer! So I snagged this snazzy chevron necklace. And I love it. I think I’ve worn it nearly every day since it arrived. And it was only $12 with shipping. That’s my kinda deal!

Weekly Wishlist: Planners & Organizers

So I realize that 2013 is already underway by a few weeks, but there’s no time like the present to start getting organized!

As much as I love how my iPhone and Macbook talk to each other, I still have to have paper and a pen near me at all times. I’m constantly jotting notes on craft ideas or blog posts, making lists, and writing reminders to myself.

Chalkboard-style typography? Check. Uplifting, optimistic message? Check. The perfect way to start off a new year? Absolutely! via Girl In Gear Studio on Etsy.

These two options by Filofax are perfectly sized to fit into a tote, purse or briefcase, and stylish to boot! Finsbury personal organizer / Domino personal organizer

If you’re more of a notepad person, jot down your thoughts on this snazzy number by Anthropologie. There are plenty of lines to accomodate a to-do list or a shopping list, plus a quirky zebra character to keep you on task.

How do you stay organized? Are you a pen-and-paper person or a digital dandy?

Easy DIY Earring Holder

I was traveling recently for work and needed an easy way to pack my earrings. Normally, I’d just throw my jewelry in a spare coin purse or even a plastic snack baggie, but then everything gets all jumbled together. I needed a better solution. That’s when I spotted a piece of junk mail that was printed on heavier paper, and it hit me…

New Desk Accessories, or Who Doesn’t Need a Giant Clothespin?

desk -- TwoPurpleCouches.com

While I wait for my “dream office/liiiiiibrary” (say it with a British accent) to take shape, I decided to spruce up my desk space a bit.

From left to right: cool, twisty blown glass by my cousin, owner of Glassometry Studios. The giant clothespin is from Michaels; I spotted it over the weekend, and for $3, couldn’t pass it up! I picked up the postcard at a photography portfolio share at my work a few months ago. And the 2013 calendar is by Pinwheel Print Shop.

Do you have a fresh new desk look for a fresh new year?
