Phase 2 of our Master Bedroom Makeover is in the books and one more room in our home has been banished of Builder Beige! Remember a few weeks back when I shared our paint color dilemma? Well, we landed on Creamy Mushroom. Doesn’t that sound like a delicious bowl of soup to enjoy on a cool Fall day? It also happens to be the delicious new color on our bedroom walls!
Window trim is one of our favorite ways to upgrade our home. It might be one of the simplest DIY projects you can do to add some punch and pizzaz to your space. There are many ways you can customize window trim and moulding to suit your style and your home’s architecture. We combined different trim and crown pieces to achieve a very custom look in our bedroom.
A few weeks ago, I shared my Modern Fall Mantel, and today I’m sharing another Fall-i-fied space in my home: the entryway!
Initially, I wasn’t going to change up the entryway decor. It’s pretty much looked the same since its first big style overhaul, which you can see here, and again here. But after playing around with the mantel, I couldn’t help but rearrange some items in the entryway. And then before I knew it, I’d re-styled the whole thing!
One of the first DIY projects we undertook in our home was to replace our builder-grade interior window sills with larger wood ones. This is mainly a cosmetic project—our old sills were functioning just fine—but the results add so much visual interest, as well as value, to our home!
I like color. I’m generally not afraid of it. But for a small moment, I seriously wondered what in the world I’d do with our orange dining room. Tom’s been on a mission to re-paint it since the last coat dried. But I asked him to give it a chance.
Let me get my decorating hands on it and see what I could do.
So, we started with a big, shiny, neutral mirror. Then we added a trio of abstract paintings.
And now, a few finishing touches later, the dining room decor dilemma doesn’t seem so daunting.
