Back in the Spring, I created this DIY Canvas Beach Tote for VRAI Magazine and talked a bit about my love for road trips and what I can’t live without while traveling (hint, lip balm is top on the list). We had a kind of brutal winter here in Ohio that almost refused to leave, so the first signs of Spring were more than welcomed this year.
Tom and I had a special “Spring Break” trip planned to Hilton Head with our good friends, and I thought a cute new beach tote would be a perfect pre-vacation DIY project. This deep canvas tote was perfect for the job, with plenty of room to hold my car travel essentials as well as my beach bum essentials!
This project was the first time that I made my own stencil using my Silhouette Cameo. I had a few hiccups, mostly due to my stencil material slipping a bit as it was cutting, but after a couple of deep breaths (and maybe a generous helping hand from Tom), I made it work. And I truly love the results!
Head on over to VRAI Magazine to see the full tutorial so you can make your own cool canvas beach tote and enjoy some fun in the sun and sand this summer!

Those sunglasses scream summer. I need a pretty beach tote. I think you have inspired me to make one for myself.
