There is never a shortage of rolls of plain kraft paper in our house. It’s the perfect all-purpose wrapping paper, from birthdays to anniversaries, and especially for the holidays. I love it because it’s a perfect blank slate; you can dress up in so many ways! I’m on a cinnamon stick kick this holiday season, so naturally I decided to create a set of cute and festive cinnamon stick gift toppers!
Cinnamon sticks can be combined with all sorts of materials—from ribbon to yarn to sprigs of berries—to make these gift toppers. Really, whatever you have on-hand can be used to create a cute bundle to top your gifts! Plus, they smell delicious, so then you get the bonus of a festive-smelling gift! A win-win!
To make your bundles, grab several cinnamon sticks and form them into a small bundle. Secure with a rubber band. You can cover the rubber band with ribbon, yarn or twine, or just tie the bundle directly to your gift.
Once I had my cinnamon stick bundles secured to my gift boxes, I added sprigs of faux berries, glittery snowflakes and yarn pom-poms.
I am so happy with how these gift toppers turned out! I love the festive look and feel, especially the creamy yarn mixed with the natural texture of the cinnamon sticks.

Great idea for a package decoration! Looking pretty and smelling great are a great combination and like the others said, the cinnamon sticks can be used for cooking after their decorating stint is over.

Hey Emily – what a fantastic idea! I have a full container (minus 1 cinnamon stick) of cinnamon sticks and they’ve been in my cupboard for years. I’m totally using your idea for my package topper instead of a plain, old bow!
