It’s Week 2 of our Summer Sippers series and today I have something slightly sweet and very refreshing to help you kick off this 4th of July holiday weekend — Strawberry Basil Sparklers!
If you missed Week 1, I shared the best ever Moscow Mule recipe. (I mean it, it’s the best). You can find my recipe here.
I’ve recently become a fan of flavored sparkling water. I’m not a big soda drinker, but I do love something fizzy now and then, and flavored waters totally satisfy that craving. Which got me thinking about adding a splash or two of vodka and turning a glass of fizzy flavored water into a fizzy summery cocktail, so that’s just what I did!
These Strawberry Basil Sparklers are a light and refreshing summer cocktail. And they’re so simple to make, I don’t even know if this qualifies as a recipe!
- 1-2 oz strawberry vodka, depending on how strong you’d like your sparklers to be
- berry flavored sparkling water
- fresh strawberries, sliced
- fresh basil leaves
In a glass, muddle a spoonful or two of sliced strawberries and two to three basil leaves. If you don’t have a muddler, mash them together with the back of a spoon. You can also chop or tear the basil leaves to release more flavor.
Fill glass with ice, add vodka, top off with sparkling water and enjoy!
The vodka gives this drink a little kick, and the sparkling water is fizzy and refreshing, making these Strawberry Basil Sparklers the perfect drink for a laid-back summer afternoon!
Don’t forget to check out all of the Summer Sipper recipes being shared today. Can you believe we all included strawberries this week!? 😉

I have to try one of these! I would have never thought of combing basil and strawberries and it sounds amazing and so refreshing! Pinning!
They’re so refreshing! Thanks Jeanie!
This looks seriously delicious! I love the strawberry and basil flavor combination. 🙂
Thanks Marie!
We are on the same wavelength girl! I love drinks with fresh basil in them. Especially since my garden is overflowing with basil right now. So funny we all used strawberries this week. Great minds!

Me too! I am really liking the trend of using herbs in drinks – it makes the flavors so interesting! And it’s even better when you can just pick them from your garden 🙂
I have a ton of fresh strawberries to use and this would be a great drink to have when unwinding for the day. Will be including this is a roundup. Thanks for the recipe.
Thanks Erlene!
