Hello friends! I think I am finally back in the blogging groove after my recent surgery. Thanks for your patience 🙂 Today I’m sharing a suuuper simple makeup storage solution. This has been my fail-proof solution for years. And if it works for me, I promise it can work for you!
Sadly, or maybe not, I don’t have any “before” photos of my makeup drawer, since I’ve been utilizing this system for almost as long as we’ve lived in this house (just like our bathroom closet storage system). But I’m sure the “before” looked something like this: makeup containers and brushed all jumbled together in a drawer. Pretty easy to picture, right?

This makeup storage solution is as easy as sorting your cosmetics and brushes and dividing them into clear acrylic drawer organizers. You could choose any drawer organizer you like, but I prefer clear acrylic ones because they’re sturdy and easy to wipe out when they get dirty. (I used the same kind of organizers to whip our kitchen “junk” drawer into shape). Also, these organizers fit perfectly in the small drawers in our bathroom vanity—I can fit 4 of these in one drawer with some space to spare!
Here’s how I’ve divided and organized my makeup, clockwise from the top right: primer, brushes and eyelash curlers; foundation, bronzer and blush; eyeliner, mascara and eyeshadows, and lastly, facial moisturizers (those jars fit perfectly in these bins!)
Now, I’m not a makeup junkie, but I do like to have some variety when it comes to eyeshadows and liners. In the last few years, I’ve become a big fan of Bare Minerals. I like that the mineral-based makeups feel lighter on my skin and not as heavy as traditional liquid concealers and foundations. If you have a larger collection of makeup, you might need a different storage system, or at least more than one drawer {wink}.
Oh, and these organizers are perfect for storing nail trimmers, files and bottles of polish, too!
What’s your favorite makeup storage solution?

I love this idea! Where did you get the clear containers?
Thank you! I found the containers at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I’ve also included a link to similar containers on Amazon in this post.
