What is it about a glass of cold, refreshing lemonade that immediately says it’s summertime? They just go perfectly together! I’ve been playing around with lemonade recipes and I have a special twist to share with you today – this elderflower lemonade cocktail. It’s a homemade, hard lemonade with vodka and elderflower liqueur. Yum!
If you’re just joining us for our Summer Sippers series, be sure to check out Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3.
Ever since the hubs and I discovered our favorite Moscow Mule recipe, I’ve become smitten with Elderflower liqueur. I’m not even sure how to describe the flavor of Elderflower liqueur, but it’s bright and fragrant and it adds a wonderful but subtle flavor when added to cocktails. Since I love it so much paired with lime and ginger beer, I thought it might pair nicely with lemon, too, and that’s how I landed on this idea of combining elderflower liqueur and lemonade.
Elderflower Lemonade Cocktail Recipe:
- 2-oz vodka (go for the good stuff!)
- 1-oz Elderflower liqueur (we like St. Germain)
- lemonade
Fill a pint-sized mason jar or 16-oz glass with ice. Add vodka and Elderflower liqueur. Top it off with lemonade and enjoy!
If you’re not a vodka fan, or if this drink seems too strong, use less vodka or you could even swap it for sparkling water if you’d like something non-alcoholic and fizzy.
Don’t forget to pin this for later!
