Today is our April Create with Me Challenge and we’re all about sharing succulent projects! Succulents have become so popular over the last few years and I love finding new ways to use them. Whether you prefer real or faux, there are so many neat things you can do with them! I want to share how I made this easy DIY faux succulent centerpiece, and later this week I’ll be showcasing it in my Spring tablescape, so please stay tuned for that!
When I first came up with this succulent centerpiece idea, I wanted to figure out how to make it with real succulents. I’m not even sure if real succulents are in stock at my local garden center yet, but after thinking on it some more, I decided to go faux this time around.
And honestly, faux is probably better in a lot of ways – the stems are so easy to work with, I didn’t get potting soil everywhere, and I don’t have to worry about keeping the plants alive! But if you’re inclined to try this with real succulents, I say go for it!

How to make a DIY Faux Succulent Centerpiece:
Materials Needed:
- Assorted faux succulents
- I purchased these succulents from my local craft store, but this assortment has a good mix of succulent types.
- 10-inch grapevine wreath
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Wire cutters or sharp scissors
- Vase
- Candle
Tutorial:
1.) Start by separating faux succulent from stems, if necessary. You want them to be relatively flat to glue them to the grapevine wreath.
2.) Select a few larger succulents and start gluing these down to the wreath. Work your way around the wreath until it’s mostly filled in.
3.) Use your smaller succulents and succulent vines to fill in any gaps or holes.
4.) Add a candle to a cylindrical vase and place in the center of the succulent ring to create your DIY succulent centerpiece!
Wasn’t that easy!? You can’t beat any easy project like this, in my book!
I think this centerpiece would be perfect for an outdoor dinner party, or for a modern Nature-inspired shower or wedding reception.
Love this? Pin it for later!

Thank you Michelle!
Such a great idea! I’m with Amy, I don’t think I’ve seen a succulent centerpiece like this. Plus, succulents aren’t season specific so you could use it for awhile!
