Transition your decor out of holiday mode with an elegant winter white mantel. Simple white trees paired with mercury glass create this beautiful style.
There’s something about a winter white mantel that gives me a sense of calm and peacefulness, especially after the bustle of the holiday season. It also helps me capture a bit of the wonder and beauty of waking up to a fresh snowfall—probably my favorite thing about the winter season!
I’ve done a few snow-inspired mantels in the past couple of years; click here to see my rustic winter mantel and here to see my simple snowy winter mantel, but this year I decided to stick with whites and mercury glass to achieve an elegant winter white mantel.
Today I’m teaming up with some special blog friends to bring you the first of our 2018 Decorate Your Mantel series featuring—you guessed it—our winter mantels! Be sure to keep reading to the end to find their beautiful and creative ideas!
I’ve always followed a “triangle” formula for decorating my mantel, with something hung in the center and then symmetrical arrangements on either side to create the illusion of a triangle. But lately I’ve been wanting to shake things up a bit and step outside my usual decorating comfort zone. I started with my Metallic Christmas Mantel, challenging myself to decorate within the triangle instead of at each point. I wanted to keep this challenge going with my winter white mantel and focus on a grouping at the center versus the sides of my mantel. I quite like how it turned out!
I held back several of my holiday decorations to create this winter white mantel look—furry white cone trees, a mercury glass tree, silver faux antlers and mercury glass votives. I also kept the white beaded garland draped across the front. I love when my decor can do double (and even triple) duty throughout the year!

Thanks Meg! At first I wasn’t sure about changing up my approach, but I think I need to do it more often!
Getting extra mileage out of those Christmas pieces is key, I think! That’s how I justify new purchases to my husband at least – ha! I really like this elegant winter white theme, Emily!
Hahaha, yes Bre! Me too 🙂 If it works for more than one season, it’s justified, right!?
