Happy Friday, friends! I know I don’t typically post on Fridays, but I have something fun to share with you today—actually for the next several Fridays! Michelle from Weekend Craft invited me to be part of her Summer Sippers series! And to kick things off, I am sharing *THE* best ever Moscow Mule recipe you’ll find on the Internet.

Along with Michelle from Weekend Craft, our Summer Sippers team includes of Jeanie from Create and Babble, Revyn and Shannon from Ivory Bell Floral and Maureen from Red Cottage Chronicles. We’ll be sharing delicious drink recipes with you each Friday, from creamy smoothies to refreshing cocktails to help you kick off your weekend! Be sure to check out all of their recipes below!

I mentioned earlier that this is  *the* best ever Moscow Mule recipe and I am not kidding. I take my cocktails very seriously 😉 The Moscow Mule has become quite the trendy drink recently, but I can see why – it’s crisp and refreshing, and you can put all kinds of yummy spins on it by adding different fruits or flavored vodkas.

While I love the classic Mule recipe, which is lime juice, vodka and ginger beer, this one takes it to a whole new level with the addition of Elderflower liqueur. It may sound a little strange, but it makes this cocktail even more amazing.

How did this yummy concoction come about? I’ll tell you! My hubs and I love going to a local Cincinnati restaurant called Kaze. They are a Japanese GastroPub and they serve some delicious dishes, from kobe beef sliders to grilled chicken skewers with guacamole to our favorite—sushi. We highly recommend the crunchy scallop roll. But we also can’t pop into Kaze without having one (or two) Tokio Mules from their cocktail menu. My hubs decided we needed to figure out how to make these mules at home, and after some Internet research, this recipe was born!

Best Ever Moscow Mule Recipe:

  • 2oz vodka
  • 1/2oz lime juice
  • 1/4oz Elderflower liqueur
  • 4oz ginger beer

Fill a glass or copper mug with ice. Add vodka, lime juice and Elderflower liqueur. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a lime wedge.

And while you certainly don’t need a copper mug to enjoy a Moscow Mule, it does add to the experience of drinking one. The copper gets extremely cold and helps keep the drink nice and chilled—perfect for relaxing on a porch or patio on a warm summer night.

{don’t forget to pin this recipe for later!}

      Thank you so much, April! I’m so glad you & your husband loved them! I don’t know what it is about Elderflower liqueur, but it makes these Mules amazing. I’ll definitely be back to join the link-up 🙂
