Weekly Wishlist: More Time!!!

Okay, so this is a little different than my usual Weekly Wishlists. I cannot believe that Christmas is 6. Days. Away. Where did December go? Why do I still have a huge to-do list for the holidays? Why haven’t I mailed out my greeting cards yet? Why is my house still only half decorated? Why are my DIY gifts not done? Ack!

::deep breaths::

So, if I had all the time in the world, here are some of the things I’d love to do for this holiday season:

– DIY ornaments (for myself and for gifts), like some of the fantastic ones created by IHeartOrganizing

– DIY decorations

DIY trees by Shauna Mailloux

– a themed Christmas tree (probably to fit in with my “Winter Wonderland” vision)
– baking and candy-making up a storm

dark chocolate peppermint bark via the lake kitchen
ghirardelli english toffee
martha stewart chocolate truffles
salted caramel fudge via eclectic recipes

– create a way to display all the holiday cards we’ve received (inspiration via IHeartOrganizing)

– DIY-ing some wrapping paper and gift bags
pianted heart bag via v and co

pom pom wrapping via whipperberry

…just to name a few. I guess there’s always next year! 😉

Are you on-track or stressed the %#^& out? Do you have any tips on how I can create more hours in a day?

Weekly Wishlist: Holiday-Chic Pillows

This week, I’m really loving the idea of bringing some special throw pillows into our family room for the holidays. Specifically – metallic embellishments and textured neutrals to make the room feel chic and cozy. Imagine being curled up on the sofa, homemade hot cocoa in hand, fire roaring, and tree twinkling. Ah, heavenly!

All of these picks are from Pier 1. Enjoy!

Weekly Wishlist: Cozy Throws

With the colder weather settling in, there’s nothing better than snuggling up in front of the fireplace under a large blanket, cradling a cup of coffee and watching the fire burn. So, to set the mood, I’ve pulled together a collection of cozy throws to suit any style or snuggling fancy…

I think this is the blanket version of comfy chenille sweater. How fabulous would that feel!? via Pottery Barn.

This Sherpa throw from Kohl’s Sonoma brand is great for two reasons: the super-plush fuzzy side and the super-soft smooth side! (I recently snagged this with some Kohl’s cash, and I can vouch for both the extreme fuzziness and extreme softness. It’s delightful).

I wish technology was advanced enough to allow us to feel what’s on our computer screens. I just want to pet this throw. Or wrap myself up in it papoose-style. Via Pottery Barn.

Chic mohair meets Grandma’s crochet basket. Or at least, that’s how I would describe this pick from Anthropologie. Soft, irresistible, and made oh-so-precious with the ombre-dyed crochet ruffle to finish off the edges. So pretty.

Hope you’re feeling nice and cozy now! I know I’m ready for a nap…

Weekly Wishlist: Booksi Book Docks

I discovered these book docks by Rich Neeley Designs on Etsy a few months ago. He takes new and vintage books and turns them into docks for your iPhone, iPad, etc. How cool is that!?

His selection is a proverbial candy store for English majors: Shakespeare, Austen, Wilde, Bronte… sooooo many great titles to choose from. Bonus: they do custom orders, too! Don’t you think they’d make a great holiday gift for the classic-literature-loving-and-technology-savvy person in your life? (hint, hint).
