The One Before the Big One

Sooooooooooo……

Today is my birthday.

I’m 29. Twenty-nine. XXIX.

The. Last. One. Before. Thirty.

Which I find pretty crazy, insane, and hard to believe. How is it that we, as humans,ย never stop feeling 18? Or 22? Or some age within that glorious college, or just-post-college age? Is it intentional or subconscious? Discuss.

Anyways, I’m not begging for “Happy Birthday” comments here. I just find that every birthday that comes around, I cannot believe how many have passed since X or Y happened. And I figured you guys could relate ๐Ÿ™‚

Any other June birthdayers out there? Gems or Cancers?

WOOT! Happy Birthday! and yeah… I forget my own age at times and have to ask how old Bill is (we’re like, 40 days apart) to be sure of my own age. My own ‘mental age’ doesn’t change much, but what freaks me out more is when my younger bother gets older. He can’t be gaining on 25! He’s still like, 6 years old. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚
My husband forgets how old I am. When I see my friends’ younger siblings graduating college and getting married, that’s why I’m like “holy crap! when did we become adults!??!!”

Happy Birthday! I know what you mean about feeling younger and not being able to believe you’re as old as you are. Good news though– I hear thirty is the new twenty.

Well Happy (BELATED) Birthday!! I hope you had an awesome day, and as a fellow 29-year old, I tell you, the feeling of being almost 30 is so scary and awesome and weird BECAUSE I still associate “myself” so much with a 23 year old, world traveling, University ditching (even if it was just for a year), adventurous self. Yet I am not that person. Some days I want to be, others I’m glad not to! It’s a strange age we find ourselves in!
